Bhumi

Last year Bhumi could not have imagined going to school. She would walk hours to collect water for her family.  She assumed that she would follow in the footsteps of her mother and sister.

Today, Bhumi is going to school on her brand new bicycle.  She and her family have clean water thanks to their rainwater harvesting tank.    Bhumi’s mother is growing wheat and millet on her farmland for income.

Bhumi’s eyes light up in describing her school.  She is keen to complete her high school education and then work as a teacher in her village.
