Kavita

One year ago, fourteen year-old Kavita never imagined that she would be going to school despite her keen interest in studying.  She had excepted to follow in the footsteps of her older sister and mother.

Thanks to her family’s brand new rainwater harvesting tank with biosand filter, Kavita is now attending school.   She no longer needs to walk hours each day to collect water.  She has received a brand new bicycle, back-pack and supplies.    Kavita’s mother is growing millet and wheat using the Khadin method for income.  She has also planted a kitchen garden for family nutrition.
