Koji

One year ago, Koji would spend hours each day in water collection. She had not even thought about going to school.  She had resigned herself to following in the footsteps of her mother.

Thanks to a brand new rainwater harvesting tank and biosand filter, today Koji’s family has clean water.  Koji is now going to school on a brand new bicycle.  After school,Koji helps her mother to grow fruits and vegetables next to their rainwater harvesting tank.  Koji’s mother is also growing wheat and millet on her own farmland for income.  Water from a newly built Khadin (farming dyke) provides irrigation for her crops.

Koji’s eyes sparkle discussing her school.  She loves all her subjects.  She aspires to become a doctor.
