Pooja

Today, eleven-year old Pooja is attending school thanks to your support.

She no longer wakes at 5:00 am to walk 5-7 hours per day across the desert in scorching heat to collect water.   Her family has received a rainwater harvesting tank with biosand filter; which provides clean water 24/7.   Pooja’s mother is growing wheat and millet on her field using the Khadin method.  She is able to earn additional income from selling her surplus.   She is also grow fruits and vegetables in a kitchen garden next to their rainwater harvesting tank.

As a result, Pooja and her family have clean water, nutritious food and increased income.  Pooja is keen to complete her high school education with the full support of her family.
