Pooja

During the past one year, Pooja’s life has been transformed.  She no longer wakes up at 5:00 am to walk hours across the desert to collect water for her family.   Pooja is going to school on her brand new bicycle.  Her family has clean water thanks to their brand new rainwater harvesting tank.

Pooja and her siblings no longer suffer from stomach pains as a result of drinking dirty water.  Pooja’s mother has setup a kitchen garden.  She is also growing millet and wheat on her own farmland for income generation thanks to the family’s brand new Khadin.  A Khadin is a farming dyke across an agricultural field perpendicular to the flow of water.

Pooja is thrilled that she will now be able to complete her education.  Pooja’s mother is grateful to everyone that has brought so much joy to her family.
