Sangeeta

Sangeeta’s life has been transformed during the past year.   Thanks to her family’s brand new rainwater harvesting tank and biosand filter, Sangeeta no longer needs to walk 5-7 hours per day to collect water.

Today, she is attending school.  Her mother is overjoyed that Sangeeta has the opportunity that she did not have because she was married during her teens.

Sangeeta’s mother is growing wheat and millet for income on her farmland.  Water from a Khadin (farming dyke) provides irrigation for her crops.  She is also growing vegetables and fruits for nutrition.    Sangeeta is very happy to receive the gift of education.  She hopes to become a nurse when she grows up.
